Zionist regime presence in region brings nothing but insecurity: IRGC Cmdr

Tehran, IRNA – The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy said on Friday that the security of the Persian Gulf needs no foreign powers and the Zionist regime's presence in the region brings nothing but insecurity.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri made the remarks in the meeting of Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Al Rahbi in Tehran.

Tangsiri said at the meeting that Oman is a friend and brother of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Persian Gulf region and enjoys a special credit among Iranian neighbors.

Referring to the presence of the Zionist regime in the region, the Commander added that this regime brings nothing to the region but insecurity.

For his part, the commander of the Royal Navy of Oman said in the meeting that foreigners are only thinking of their own interests and referred to the riches of  West Asia, saying that many countries have eyes for the region and that there is no doubt that increasing the level of cooperation will limit interference in the region.

The Omani commander referred to joint naval drills o Iran and Oman, adding that his country was ready to cooperate with Iran in other areas of maritime security, including joint naval drills.

Al Rahbi had met with Iran’s Chief of Staff for the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Gharaei Ashtiani here in Tehran.
